Declan Kiberd is Professor of Irish Studies at Notre Dame. For over three decades he taught Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama at UCD.
Among his books are Inventing Ireland, Irish Classics, Ulysses and Us, Idir Dhá Chultúr and, most recently, After Ireland: Writing the Nation from Beckett to the Present which includes an excellent essay on Michael Hartnett entitled The Double Vision of Michael Hartnett.
He has served on the Board of the Abbey Theatre and as Director of the Yeats Summer School. His books have been translated into Spanish, Arabic, Turkish and Japanese.
Declan will deliver this year’s Michael Hartnett Memorial Lecture entitled “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids—-Is There a Children’s Literature?”
